It came from an estate sale in a small town in the U.P. of Michigan. A lady purchased it in a box of toys to get a few toy trucks for her grandson then put Matt and Barbie in the basement for 2 plus years. She told me she nearly opened it once to let the kids play with it. Take a minute to breathe. When she listed it on Ebay she expected it would bring her 100 bucks or so if she was lucky. We talked, and I bought it from her. An interesting side note: The item nearly identical to this display that sold in 2007 seems to have come from the same estate sale in MI. Apparently the owner had worked for Pillsbury. (Funny Face) The Ebayers who listed each of them lived about 20 miles apart in MI, and both reported getting them from an estate sale in 2007. If anyone can add to this info, please do. I'd like to know more about the Pillsbury employee who saved these rare displays for posterity.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
