Frank May's Custom Or & Orbitor Recreation

Frank posted an image of his custom Or & Orbitor on the old MMM LISTSRV around 1997 or maybe 1998. He built this from scratch based on the only known catalogue picture of this craft (at the time). Since there's no separate picture of Or himself, Frank has mostly had to rely on his imagination, as well as some (Lego) parts he felt would work.

Unfortunately I don't have his original text describing the build but I do recall that the hoops are those typically used for hand-embroidery stacked to attain the proper thickness, with the vanes made of wood (I think or it may have been plastic). Or's body is a block of wood with lego arms/legs screwed to it and the head was sculpted. The dome on the Orbitor craft was purchased at Hobby Lobby or Michael's and cut in height to clear the seated figure.
