JR Xmas Tombola Advert 1968

JR Xmas Tombola advert 1968

This half-page advert appeared in French-language comic magazines in the Fall of 1968 - my example is from Mickey magazine. It shows Major Matt Mason as a prize that could be won in JR’s Xmas Tombola (raffle) that year, as well the image used to identify participating stores.

Text reads:
Would you like to have Matt Mason the man of space and his space equipment?

Maybe you will win him by participating in the great Xmas Tombola by Jouets Rationnels

Caption left:
Here is the toy that already belongs in the 21st century. Major Matt Mason*, like his friend Sergeant Storm*, is a cosmonaut. With all his equipment he’ll allow you to imitate the real space stations. Major Matt  Mason or Sergeant Storm, 15 cm tall, from 22 F. Electric lunar vehicle 70 F. Space base 70 cm high, 100 F.

Caption below:
Go quickly get your ticket at a merchant indicated by the “Great Xmas Tombola by Jouets Rationnels” poster. You can win Matt Mason and many other toys…

Poster text:

Paul’s Note:

I’ve written some info on the French Franc and the value of the toys for John’s Tombola catalogue published a year later, see next item in the JR section.
