For 1970 Simpsons-Sears, like Sears in the US, greatly reduced its offering of Major Matt Mason toys. Quite sad, but the reality is that interest in the Space Race by 1970 had greatly waned and the popularity (aka Sales data) regarding the Space Race and related toys had taken a big hit, reflected in Mattel's new toy offerings leading up to 1970. The entire catalog is much thinner than those from previous years as toy trends were shifting. The good Major was shoved down to the bottom 20% of the page:
