Boys' Toys of the Fifties & Sixties by Thomas Holland Cover |
Boys' Toys of the Fifties & Sixties and its companion book, Girls' Toys of the Fifties & Sixties, was edited by Thomas Holland and published in 1997. The book is 8 1/2" x 11" x 1/2" with glossy stiff cardboard covers, perfect (glue) bound with a total of 192 pages. The book basically selects toys from Sears Catalog Wishbooks starting at 1950 and ending at 1969 - the two Major Matt Mason pages are on 184-185. The book is not comprehensive, skipping many toys so you get sort of a summary feel for what was offered each year.

John's Notes:
- The reproduction is fairly decent in this book, only entirely in black and white which really takes away much of the impact.
- There's a touch of commentary in the beginning, otherwise it's just a book of Wishbook copies.
