MMM Restoration - Capt. Lazer

Submitted 2024.06.09 by Mik Drago

I carefully opened Captain Lazer's backpack with the electrics using a scalpel. As you can see, it is of course a very primitive mechanical technique, but it was common in the 1960s. Due to the material fatigue of the plastic, some of the mounts and spacers are worn out. I will consider whether to repair it in its original condition so that the old electrics work again, or whether to upgrade the figure with new electronics

John's Notes

I think it's interesting that this Capt. Lazer has "Japan" embossed on a component inside. If you look under a Capt. Lazer's butt it clearly says "Mexico" - makes me think that they were assembled in Mexico from components made elsewhere.
