#6315 Major Matt Mason Accessory Pak Assortment |
Mattel's Major Matt Mason Accessory Pak Assortment enabled the toy
retailer to stock all the available MMM Accessory Paks in a nifty
counter-top display. This display seems to have been reused for later
Accessory Pak Assortments as well, with minor text changes.
All images provided by Paul Vreede.
Packaging:
The assortment came in a plain cardboard box with Mattel logos and an assortment number printed on either end.

Holding the blister cards in place during transit is the display tray, sitiing in the bottom of the box. It measures 42 x 27.5 x 8 cm. The tray is made from brown corrugated board with one side in white, printed in cyan blue and black. Inside is an extra plate on the bottom, which also holds up six spacers for the blister cards.

John's Notes:
This first Accessory Pak Assortment was only offered in 1967. It was
later reworked into Mattel Accessory Pak Assortment A6323. Not enough of
the displays have survived to get a good feel as to any changes that
were made in the later Assortment.
Paul's Notes:
As will be apparent, the blister cards in my tray are far from new. This is because I couldn't afford a complete NOS box but was lucky enough to get an empty box with the all-important tray by courtesy of my good friend Robert Yowell. Sent over with a decoy toy inside so I wouldn't have to explain to customs here why an empty box was shipped all the way across the Atlantic. :) Since I have vivid memories of such a tray placed next to the till at my local toy store in Holland when young, I'm truly delighted to now have one for myself!
