Of all the custom items that Jim Hampton has created, this, in my opinion, is the best. It uses a stock 8 inch Mego-style body with a custom sculpted Major Matt Mason head (this was created before 3D printing, making this even more impressive). 

Jim writes:

This is a figure I made for the Annual Mego Meet in Wheeling, Virginia. It was [sic] auctioned off to support the Museum. The figure is a one of a kind artistic rendering of the Major Matt Mason Character owned by Mattel Inc. It's Mego-sized, so 8" mego scale.

At some point a few years later, Jim also made this custom Sgt Storm figure, also in Mego-scale.
