I got a bit distracted from doing migration tasks with a bunch of information that I've been saving for years that have turned into a new page - this one featuring Newspaper articles from when Major Matt Mason was offered in stores. I've explained the how/why on the new page. I think it's interesting and worthwhile to read the articles in order - you'll find, first the initial excitement of the new proliferation of space toys, attributed to the success of the Apollo Program which was widely televised, then get a sense of loss as excitement waned. Towards the end there's a quote from a Mattel sales guy talking about how the Space Toy category quickly bombed, putting evidence to the opinion that MMM's success mirrored the Apollo Program bringing the Major's demise as a relevant sales option.
