Description:

1969 MATTEL MATT MASON Space Ship Carrying Case with Custom made hang tag. Complete your MMM display with this awesome and rare to find Carrying Case Space Ship for your loose Matt Mason Team figures and accessories. Great display piece. Has been restored and repaired as these were made very fragile and hard to find one mint nowadays. The top cone and bottom rocket base were replaced with tougher and more sturdy reproductions, bolted as original with brass bolts. Only the middle tray is all original. Very clean with bright colors. Has a repaired crack as shown in photo. Has all its inner clear pockets to place equipments, door hatch also repaired to open and close with ease. Some scuffs on outside of rocket where painted to make it look more displayable. Original handle to carry is perfect. Over all, you wont find a more a more awesome space ship as cool and rare as this one. Very hard to find. Photo with figures and accessories are for display purposes only and not included. My Take: 
I'm really surprised that this set sold for as much as it did as the hang tag and replaced parts are reproduction. That being said, the reproduction quality is quite good and the vinyl of the case and flap are in decent shape. The sale also reflects the rarity of finding a Space Ship Case in decent shape (I have one that's virtually mint unused but there aren't many out there). Also all that you see have busted and/or missing noses and broken and/or missing thrusters (the polystyrene is quite fragile).
