CIPSA Art. 4926 Scorpio el Tirano!

Art. 4926 Scorpio Box Front
The Mexican release of Scorpio puts a full-size photo of him on a brilliant colored fuchsia and pink box. CIPSA decided to make Scorpio and Callisto (called Cripton) the villains of the toy line, thus Scorpio is called "The Tyrant." The figure was released with much the same appearance and molded details as the US Mattel version only with a slight variation of color and for some reason, more loose examples have surfaced with pink molded feet.

Spanish translations by Paul Vreede:

Scorpio El Tirano ! - Scorpio The Tyrant!
Enemigo intergaláctico del Capitán Meteoro - Intergalactic enemy of Captain Meteor

- In the Universe there are extraterrestrial beings which desire to capture and enslave defenseless planets. Principal amongst them is Scorpio, the Tyrant, who wants to become the boss of the Universe, thanks to his deadly eyesight, which emits intermittent waves causing terrible destruction. Scorpio, helped by his danger-detecting antennae, and the armor protecting arms and legs, has managed to flee from Captain Meteor time after time. And so, the intrepid Captain Meteor continues his struggle to liberate the Universe of this malevolent Tyrant.

CIPSA Scorpio Box Contents

Mexican Scorpio may be found in odd color combinations (he may have pink rather than purple feet, or some other weird combination). This example has a fleshier colored body and a more pinkish torso, but still has the right colored head and shields. The gold flecks in the dome are larger, resembling glitter rather than the powder-fine flecks in the US Scorpio. The CIPSA Scorpio is packaged without the chest-mounted "sensor probe" shooter (although this does appear later as part of CIPSA's Big Jim AKA Kid Acero as a red accessory), air hose or bellows.

John's Notes:

I didn't get too excited about the CIPSA Scorpio when it first started appearing in online auctions - initially it sold for about the same price as the Mattel version but when it became apparent that it didn't come with the chest accessory and search globes, the perception was that it was inferior. Towards the end of the sales run (about 15 or so sold on eBay from the same seller who also released most of the other CIPSA sets as old store stock) the sales demand dwindled as did the price, with the final few sets selling for around $150. Understand that none of these had pink feet - those started to surface a few years later and sold at a premium as an unusual variation - difficult to find a pink-footed version with unbroken wires.

Scorpio can more commonly be found as the US version, there's also an unusual Italian record:
