Mattel 1967 "Fall" Catalog Front Cover
|
The use of the term "Fall" Catalog is actually incorrect at this point
in time, as in 1967 Mattel had three basic retailer catalogs (that weren't Doll related): Spring
Introductions, "Toy Fair," and their regular catalog, which was
delivered in the Fall. In the 70's, Mattel began to call this last
catalog the Fall Catalog, and to expand their specialty catalog offering a great deal in the 80's. The most
striking difference between this catalog and the "Toy Fair" version is
the sky color and removal of the Space Rover. It's interesting that they
cut-and-pasted terrain to make up for the gaps, and put that huge red
Mattel logo on the back cover to balance the shot. The interior has
several corrections as well.
