Mattel Talk Centerfold |
Mattel published "Toy Talk" as an internal newsletter - I'm not quite sure when it started, when it ended or how often it was published. I've only seen a few issues for sale and only own one - I believe they were published for employees, typically at the Hawthorne, California location and probably to employees located outside of that location. The issues I've seen run 4-8 pages with a stapled spine. The image above is a centerfold from an issue and features a newspaper mock-up for the first moon landing with Major Matt Mason. I saved the image but neglected to save any other info regarding its other contents - it was saved from a sales post. I'm actively searching for any other issues.
Toy Talk Vol. 6, No. 3 AUGUST, 1967 "Mattel's $1,00,000 Christmas Present"
The issue for August 1967 highlights the "$1,000,000 Christmas Present" and "Major Matt Blitzes Houston" stories on the cover and also contains mentions of the vinyl Wallets, Notebooks and Lunchboxes as well as the Funny Face competition inside.
